The Primofiore Lemon finds origin in remote age and with to the oranges rappresneta one of the typical fruits sicialian. The Lemon sicialian distinguishes from the other lemons above all pear trees sapore much intense one had to the elevated present acidity in the polpa and to the abundant rendered in juice. The peel é of yellow color clearly, medium thickness, with fine grain, while the maturation of the fruit begins to the end of October and continue until the first days of April. In Sicily it comes cultivated in various areas, the most extended di.le which find in the part oriental of the island.
Verdello
The Verdello Lemon derives instead from a particular technique of cultivation, that it allows to delay the closing of the plant whose mature fruit in fact from May to September, and is particularly present in Sicily in the territories of Acireale, Fiumefreddo, Avola and Noto. The peel is of green color chairo, grain fine and medium thickness. Regarding the Primofiore, also maintaining an optimal taste, it possesses a less juicy pulp and an inferior acidity. The Avola and Noto Lemons are sure most valuable and their resistance renders them particularly adapted to shipments to long distance.
